Leagues: from the Mud Pit to the Great Bell

Your power rating decides which league your fighter belongs to. Six venues, six steps up the ladder of Knuckleford.

What is power?

Every fighter has a power rating that sums up its strength:

power = level × 10 + (strength + agility + speed + endurance) × 4 + weapons × 6 + skills × 10 + small pets × 8 + large pets × 20

It places the fighter in a league. Because fighters grow around 20 power per level, the leagues follow the level bands closely: rivals in a league are generated for those levels.

The Ranking screen

Each league table lists generated rivals with proper names, plus your own fighters whose power falls in that league. The top three get a podium. The screen also tells you how much more power your active fighter needs for the next league.

Each battle takes place in one of the seven arenas at random; see arenas for the art and the lore.

Tips

  • More weapons, skills and pets raise power, but the game caps a fighter at 4 weapons, 8 skills and 3 pets, so level and stats matter too.
  • Retired veterans do not count for rankings, but they help future fighters: see the Hall of Fame.
